Arc’teryx Veilance

I’m starting to have some serious obsession issues with the veilance line. Every jacket I’ve acquired from them has met all my expectations. The tailored aspect of the fit is like no other jacket I’ve ever owned. I’ve not had the chance to see anything else but the jackets, but from what I hear they’re equally impressive… would love to hear from anyone who has anything from the clothing line.

Just added this primaloft insulated 3L shell jacket to the lineup; the insulation from the 140g primaloft is surprisingly warm.

Porter utility bag as a bonus.

Packed

My buddy Adam started a new content based website (IAMPACKED.com)… not exactly breaking new grounds. Geared toward travelers, it’s more of a refreshing twist to the “whats in my bag” flux. It’s nice to see what people like mr. Gibbs and mr. Marshal pack as their travel essentials. Go submit!

Here’s my submission:

Blackbook

First assignment for my design sketch course; sketch 3 things you use on a daily basis: Leica D-Lux3 / Porter Briefcase / Nike Lunarglide+ 3.

The Kit

I’m excited to say I’ll be shooting Penfield‘s Spring/Summer 2012 lookbook tomorrow morning. Penfield have had an impressive roster of photographers work on their previous collections; so it is a humbling feeling to be associated to all the others who’ve preceded me. This is my kit. Ready.

Head Porter Plus Duck Pants

One of my favorite pickups from Japan are definitely these cotton duck pants by HPP. While the 14oz of thick linen canvas was very rigid, after about 3 weeks of wear they’ve comfortably molded to my legs.

off to JFK

Apologies for the lack of updates for the passed month, but I promise there alot of great things to come…notably some of the actual work I did in Japan

It’s always a pleasure to go to New York; I’ll be there til monday for a very exciting project – more on that later… Those who have my contact info, let’s grub.

Tokyo Retail : NSW AT HEAD PORTER PLUS

One of my favorite shops when I was in Tokyo, was hoping I would find some scraps of the Gyakusou collection…but it was long sold out. I did however find some great cottonduck workpants by Head Porter Plus which will later be photographed and showcased on an upcoming edition of I WISH THEY MADE THIS FOR GIRLS.

Review : Porter Card Case

Porter’s motto : “Heart & Soul into  every stitch” is nothing short of the truth. In fact, the Yoshida Co has been producing hand made utilitarian bags since the early 30′s. They boast an impressive reputation by bringing a simple & stylish design approach yet putting a complete devotion to functionality, materials and fabrication.

I’ve owned this case for a  year now. It belongs to the Freestyle  collection. The leather-like effect is obtained by rubbing by hand the polyurethane-coated canvas making it fully weather & tear resistant. So far, after a year of living in my back pocket, the wallet is in MINT condition. Not a scratch or a tear in sight.
