When entering, one is charmed by the plywood panels hugging the walls & floors of the modest space, a barber’s chair reminiscent of the 50′s, and not to mention an array of hard to find bicycle parts! And despite the recent surge of newly opened shops, most city riders can vouch for Sylvester‘s originator status. I’m glad to say that I had my bike built there 2 years ago, by one of the nicest fella in town. I passed by this week to check out Maura‘s next ride…just gonna put it out there and say that I am extremely jealous; cinelli gazetta…vintage san marco saddle…

Picked up a new front wheel today at Sylvestre’s, H&son on an All city hub. let’s see how this thing rides. I’ve heard scary stories of this rim. Sylvestre reassured me, apparently they’re less flimsey than the first ones. I heard they’re fast. Next step: threading the fork.
