In 1923, Albert Messmer changed the world by creating the first Football Cleat in response to a muddy pitch on a rainy day. Hummel, which is the direct translation of a bumble bee, is inspired by the agile movement that a bumble bee can perform in the air. The cleat created by hummel allowed players to have the much needed traction. Now, almost ninety years later, the Danish brand makes their debut in North America, and we, The Ringleaders are proud to be sponsored by such a storied company. Our full kits finally came out of the print shop so we will be sporting this for the 2010 Campaign. No Pity on the pitch.

Outdoor football season has started. Thank god. Which is why these 3 pairs of runners have seen more action that usual, been working on getting the cardio up again. I had posted about these a couple of months ago, I’ve been a big fan of Lunars since it’s inception in 08. While the aesthetic features of the thick sole had to grow on me, the technological factor was impressive enough to win me over. They’ve finally released the black/white and I’ve finally gotten my hands on them. They are part of the World Cup Tier Zero collection, now Available at OFF THE HOOK & other select Tier Zero accounts.

While Nike is taking their ID program to another level in the customization game, other brands like RL and Timberland who stepped foot on this boat are still in primary stages of the process. Having a bespoken suit may not be considered a rarity nowadays but a pair of bespoken AF1′s are. At a hefty price tag of 800USD, it takes a true Nike head to invest some hard earned guap. Marcus asked me to do some product shots of his creation, and I was glad to do them. For more info about the kevlar and waterproof denim, migrate here.

I’m gonna write this post like a series of twits. I just got back from soccer (football), I’m tired, so no structured text for tonight…just some thoughts of the week

Started a new pair of Raw for the next year, they’re Stussy deluxe: made in japan, let’s see how they hold up. So far so good, the denim is pretty rigid, it makes me sleep well at night. I switched my luggage system over to porter: new wallet, new daily shoulder bag. Got some reading material. Love issue 1 of Inventory, i’ll be subscribed. Supreme vol.5 was kind of a fail, JA saved the issue. Only upside is the translated text. Clark (murakami cover) is damn good.

The Ringleaders is a collective of artists, designers, photographers, retailers, distributors, friends…who all show a love for the game of football. We play all year round, in the sun, in the rain, in the snow.

Jeremy worked on this crest for the RFC three years ago, it’s finally out, now we’ll be working on the new website soon. It’s gonna be beyond.

Aside from ceo-ing a major distribution company (Handling brands like Penfield / WeSC / New Balance / Brixton / PF flyers), something most people don’t know about Jesse is that he has a University degree in photography. Over the weekend, he was at the Impact game, where Montreal prevailed over the White Caps in the USL finals. Here are some amazing shots he took…I’m trying to figure out how they came out like that.
