The Stockroom

Seems as though all my friends ask me if ONE day I’d open up a shop or start my line of clothes, I usually respond with a shrug of elbows…but I know that deep down, most of us have thought of it, pondered about it, and even dream of doing something like that.  So congrats to Ryan/Owen/Simon for having the guts (and financial backing) to do it!

Emilcotoni for Visvim

When it’s as hot as it is right now on the eastcoast, Man’s best friends are: water, AC and a good T-shirt. Emilcotoni of Italy is one of the top makers of cotton. The main characteristic distinguishing Emilcotoni from other common yarns is the raw material selection, which are exclusively made out of Egyptian originated cotton with extra long staples. The knit is light, breatheable and will most definitately keep the same, perfect shape even after many washes. I am ready, Summer.

La Habana

I’m shooting a Summer Lookbook. I’m keeping the details in the safe, but here is a teaser. Big thanks to the stylist Jay Forest and Max, our model of the day. Inspirations include Hiroki’s Sense photoshoot, Stan Getz, Joao Gilberto & Paul Anthony’s HUgE shoot.

Trainers

Outdoor football season has started. Thank god. Which is why these 3 pairs of runners have seen more action that usual, been working on getting the cardio up again. Nothing beats the feeling of running in a well engineered pair of runners and listening to “Building Nothing Out of Something”. Here are undoubtedly some of my preferred runners, not only in terms of comfort and performance, but also extremely sexy lookin’…

Free/Man by Darian Hocking & Luis Valdizon

My friends across the prairies have teamed up on a project together. The relaunch of the already successful Free/Man website is only the beginning of things to come. Here is a short film by Luis, giving us a taste. Check out more here

New Balance 574 KS

A new pair of New Balance 574′s have just surfaced. As per usual, they are equipped with the famous NB Encap Technology which provides softened heel strike with optimal stability. Mainly composed of a soft beige suede, mesh toe/tongue & 3M accented logo’s, they are probably my favorite colorway thus far from the Massachusetts’ born company.

They are available here.

What Did You Wear Today

The term WDYWT is no stranger to any forum members’ vocabulary. I joined the SUFU & Hypebeast forums somewhere in 2006. It was a great time for young thinkers like myself and some of my other peers who have now made a name for themselves. In fact, it was a fundamental step into making this blog as successful as it is. People were a lot more open-minded and tolerant toward failure and poor knowledge. It wasn’t always so frenetic as it is today; just isn’t the same nowadays. This post is purely for nostalgic reasons, somewhat of a tribute to those times when one could share his own way of putting pieces together without getting frowned upon. To all the old members from the greater times (you know who you are), I salute you and make sure to check-in, in the comment section!

I’m wearing:

Our Legacy Oxford Shirt
Porter Smoky 2way Briefcase

Review : Porter Card Case

Porter’s motto : “Heart & Soul into  every stitch” is nothing short of the truth. In fact, the Yoshida Co has been producing hand made utilitarian bags since the early 30′s. They boast an impressive reputation by bringing a simple & stylish design approach yet putting a complete devotion to functionality, materials and fabrication.

I’ve owned this case for a  year now. It belongs to the Freestyle  collection. The leather-like effect is obtained by rubbing by hand the polyurethane-coated canvas making it fully weather & tear resistant. So far, after a year of living in my back pocket, the wallet is in MINT condition. Not a scratch or a tear in sight.
