Many have tried but never succeeded at reproducing it and making it better. Realistically, how can you expect a repro to look any better than this. The M42 was the uniform for the 101th Airborne Division troops in Normandy for WWII, father of the M65. There are so many military jackets that have influenced fashion but the M42 has been under the radar, getting overshadowed by the M65, the MA-1, the M51 and others. It’s probably the most fashionably in-tuned military field jacket, without actually being a field jacket….From the shirt collar to the slant-pockets and the waist belt to the reinforced elbows, I feel like this could easily be found in an Engineered Garments catalog.

I wanted to archive my collection of Hiroki’s creations. So I took detail shots of everything and decided to make this (whatever this is)…I know some people may appreciate this.
